At the Entrance to the Cathedral Hall

When we arrived, I addressed the lay sisters and they were kind enough to open the cathedral for us. It was locked because it was Monday and no service was planned for that day.
We were impressed by this entrance. It is very unusual even for us locals.
You can see at once it is very old and special.
Standing there I thought what great people had visited that place and prayed there.
On coming back home I have also found some pictures of the cathedral before the renovation at the web site of the district church administration.

The Icon Shop

The icon shop is to your right when you enter the cathedral.

St.Alexander of the Neva

As you enter the cathedral, you will see this icon at once.
It is on the wall to the right of the hall entrance.
It is a modern icon of the 13th-century Russian Prince St.Alexander of the Neva.

Prince St.Vladimir

This icon is to your right as you enter the cathedral.
It is near the staircase leading upstairs to the church bell.

The Nativity of Christ Icon

This huge picture is opposite the icon shop.

Lots of Old and New Icons

These are interior icons that we saw on the central wall.

Archangel St.Michael's Icon

Of course, the icon of Archangel St.Michael occupies an honorary place.

The Trinity Icon

The lay sisters drew our attention to this icon that is very dear to them.
