Forgotten Countries 2 - Can you name these places?

This is a challenge to all VT members. Shown are stamps from countries that no longer exist. At least, they no longer exist as political entities that have their own post offices and stamps. The places may have been taken over by another, or they may have been colonies that changed names after gaining independence, or they may have broken away politically for some time. But for whatever reason, if you go there today and mail a postcard home, your stamp will have a different country on it.

Let me know if you think you can identify all eight. The first to do so will gain worldwide recognition on VT!

The first stamp, from Ifni, was an enclave in southern Morocco on the Atlantic coast. Spain acquired it in 1860 but returned it to Morocco in 1969. This stamp is from 1953.

#2

Katanga province seceded from the former Belgian Congo, then the Congo Republic, in 1960, but was not recognized by most nations. The last troops surrendered in 1963.

#3

Labuan is an island off the northwest coast of Borneo. It was administered by the British and is now a part of Malaysia.

# 4

After World War One this territory was detached from East Prussia (Germany). It was occupied by Lithuania in 1924.

# 5

The Netherlands Indies is now Indonesia.

# 6

Oltre Giuba was a territory acquired by the British. They ceded it to Italy and it became a part of Italian Somaliland. Later it was part of independent Somalia, which today doesn't have a formal central government and has no functioning postal service.

# 7

Ponta Delgada is in the Azores, a part of Portugal.

# 8

Quelimane was a part of the Portuguese colony of Zambezia, which is now part of Mozambique.

No, I didn't get to carve a pumpkin this year! I was out of town for Halloween (in South Bend). How about you?
