Jeff and I both love to cook and we do it pretty well. We also like to dine out and try new cuisines.

This is a pic of just a nicely roasted chicken w/ vegetables that was cooked in a clay German Romertopf in the oven.

We recently went to Hungary and had some fantastic meals.

We love our wine and beer. We are from Portland Oregon so we really got in to microbeers there and here in Germany...well everyone knows about the great beers here. We took a bike ride along the river and pulled up to a dock to have a picnic. We had some wine, cheese, olives, and crackers. The huge scary swan almost jumped on the dock. They are pretty fierce looking close up. It's all that black eye liner they use.

This is a picture of Johns pizza on Beeker street in NY city. It was super!!! Wish I lived in New york and could eat pizza there every day. Well at least it has set new levels we need to reach in our pizza making.

Thsese were good eats! My husband almost had a culinary coronary over these. I made a salsa fresca, a sauce out of mayonnaise/sour cream/lime juice/chipotle juice, and topped with chopped cabbage. I sauteed the tortilla lightly in oil until slightly chewy and fried the fish in a beer batter. I used regular frozen fillets of flounder.

We ate at the in Munich during the Startbierfest (before we had any of the strong beers). Jeff was in heaven with his white asparagus in hollandaise with smoked ham. He still raves about that meal. I had salmon something. It was awhile ago:)

German food is varied and very delicious. They can really make some sensational sauces.

We had a snack of fire cooked bacon wrapped figs at this lamb festival in Bad Urach. The beer is from Andechs monestery/brewery which is located outside of Munich. Bad Urach is 40 mins. or so (South) from Stuttgart by car.
