University of Texas - watering holes | Trudy's, a low-key bar with strong drinks! |
Ya gotta go to Trudy's. Great drinks that not only taste great, but also make you too impaired to drive. Great environment! |
| The Tour Bus goes in water, too! |
| | Take a tour! These vehicles remind me of the Duck Tours in Boston.
Gee, all other state flags are lower than the US flag, but the Texas state flag flies at the same height as the US flag. Why? "Because we can."
Texas used to be its own country, and was annexed by the US, with a number of conditions.
The tour will take you thru the Historic District, and you'll see alot more than you would on your own. |
| | History Museum The tour bus went by this museum, and the star out front is so big you can walk under it. |
| The new stadium under construction. Ha-yuge! |
| | University Football is a very popular sport at this University. I started thinking that the Colluseum in Italy was given that name, because in comparison to everything else that was built, it was "collossal" in size. Well, take a look at their new stadium, as it is truly collossal! |
| Local watering hole with unique beer! |
| | The Magnolia Cafe Great food and a great choice of beer that, odds are, you never had before. The food was good. The beer was good, and I believe it was also brewed in Texas. |
| The floor in the state house. |
| | The State house Take the tour of the state house. The place is well ornamented with elaborate door hinges and door knobs. The building is made with the red granite/marble that is indiginous in the state. |
| I'm standing near the state house |
| | The state house If you zoom in on this picture, you can see there are 6 round symbols on the building below the US flag. Each symbol represents something I completely forgot, so you'll have to learn about it on your own. |
| | Here are those symbols Another picture of the state house floor, showing the symbols. |
