by hunterV - last update: Aug 6, 2009

Located in Stone Ford District

The central alley
The park is located on the border of Stone Ford District and Lenin District at the end of Pushkin Street.
Luhansk-Moscow railway line is the border between the districts.
So the park is located between this railway line and the local brewery in Kirov Street.
May Day Park disco grounds

Dancing Grounds

The dancing grounds are frequented by the young residents of Stone Ford District.
My friend and I were having beer at a nearby beertent one day and people watching.
I was surprised to hear how the DJ addressed the dancing public. He greeted them as "Stone Ford residents" and just said,"Hi, Stone Ford!"
It is 25 meters high: nice views!

Ferris Wheel

Our Ferris wheel is 25 meters high (82 feet).
Nice views!
Nice to take pictures with!

Kids' Favorite Stone Peacock

This stone sculpture is known and enjoyed by thousands of Luhansk kids and has always been a photo place for them.
Parachute Cafe, May Day Park, Luhansk

Parachute Cafe

The are six cafes on the park territory now, among them two beer tents.
Voroshilovgrad Cafe, May Day Park, Luhansk

Voroshilovgrad Cafe

This cafe has a nostalgic Soviet name: Voroshilovgrad.
This is how Luhansk was called in 1935-1958 and in 1970-1990 in honor of Clement Voroshilov (1881-1969), a five-star general and one of the Soviet leaders.
Located at the central alley

Beer Tents

There is one beertent opposite the dancing grounds too.
Riding the rollercoaster in May Day Park, Luhansk

Hi Vic-I saw that on AeroSvit's and UIA's websites you can buy the Dniproavia tickets Kiev-Luhansk on-line (they code-share it seems). About USD 100 one-way. When I come over I am thinking of doing that. Maybe something to add in your tip?

Howdy Victor! Like I said before you live in a fabulous city. I still cannot get over how many wonderful museums, fountains, monuments, statues, squares, and those buildings have so much charm. Thank you for your lovely tour!
