The beautiful Bamberg Town Hall ALTES RATHAUS is on an artificial island in the middle of the River Regnitz and is accessible by two bridges. It's architecture combines Gothic, Baroque and Rococo styles with its half-timbered addition "Rottmeisterhauschen" (1668). Honestly, I have never seen anything like it. It's probably one of the most beautiful and colorful structures I have ever seen. And to top it off, there are those wonderful painted frescoes on it with whimsical figures, including one area where there is actually a chubby little leg sticking out.
Inside is a Museum with one of the largest collections of Porcelain in Europe.

In this travelogue, I will feature this wonderful building. I must admit, I got a little carried away with pics - couldn't help myself. Enjoy!
