| Mt Borradaile VT Survivor trip 2008 |
Mt Borradaile was a special place. People usually come here by plane to experience this magical place, paying around the $3,000 mark for 3 days/2nights all inclusive. This was obviously the most expensive part of our trip, but definately well worth it....and just a small portion of what it would have cost us to fly in & fly out.
The camping grounds are very nicely done with lovely tent accommodation and the staff were friendly and most helpfull.....considering we held them up and missed the sunset tour.
Anyway, we did make this tour and we all enjoyed it immensly. |

Well after a good night's rest in our 5 star tents, the day started off slow......with one of our tour guides having to bucket the water out of the boat.

So vt1 group said.....we'll have that boat thanks :o)
....due to the fact that before our epic journey Zig took us to see this croc movie....where 3 out of 4 people who took a tinny like this got eaten by a big croc!!

And the happy snappers were at it!! :o)
We saw a couple of big salt water crocs & a small freshy. I'm glad to say that none of them looked hungry on the day :o)

The landscape changed and we found outselves in marshland clambering up the rocks for a walk up the hill to discover the Aboriginal art.

Along the way we saw a burial ground which we were not allowed to take pix of.
Zig explaned that the custom in this part of the land was to lay the dead in a tree, then sometime after take the bones down and place them in the burial ground which was in a part cave.
I thought this painting was well done.....look!....it's a pic of my boat!! :o) ....see the name Ann on the front?
