| Elephant Using Our safari Road |
Sun City Resort and the Pilanesberg National Park was our one and only visit to South Africa. Our three night visit enabled us to take a late afternoon safari into the game park where we were able to view a multitude of wild animals including several from the "Big Five" group.
We were able to get within 100 metres of many animals including elephant, hippos, giraffe, black and white rhino, zebra, wilderbeast, antelope etc etc. Our guide shared his knowledge with us and used his radio to contact park rangers in an attempt to locate the Big Five. We were 10 minutes late to see one of the "cats" stalk an antelope. Although we did not sight a lion or leopard we were more than satisfied with our safari.
A camera with large optical zoom is recommended. |
