My absolute favorite hobby is gardening-I love it, it is my way to unwind. I have created a garden every year since I was ten. This year I planted 6 new rose bushes. Peace, Chicago Peace, Angel Face, Christian Dior, Mr Lincoln, and Queen Elizabeth. Also planted a couple more Hibiscus plants. Last year planted 3 Bougainvilleas which are doing nicely this year, a new lemon tree, and a new grapefruit tree. The kids always enjoy planting Sunflowers and there is something very cheerful about this flower. The birds love it. And the gardens have attracted 4 lizards that live in it as well. We have a small veggie garden where we plant peas, beans, tomatoes, squash, and melons.

I forgot the name of these, but they have done very well in the desert heat and have multiplied since last year. They look like little bursts of sunshine and have bloomed year round.

The trailing Petunias love the sun-they live year long here except in the summer they stop blooming. I planted some purple along with some more pink. The Hummingbirds like these ones and they are gorgeous about 8 months out of the year.

Who would of thought garlic could be so pretty.

Arizona has a lot of hummingbirds and they are fairly easy to attract if you put forth some effort. They are amazing to watch. We have two that feed at the feeders early every morning. They prefer the sugar water solution over the store bought solution.
