We all know Cupidon the little angel who throws his arrows to young people when he decides they must fall in love ; exploring a Parisian park, one day his attention was caught by two statues in a little romantic garden not far from the Place de La Répubique (The pictures here are a bit from everywhere. . . ). They looked so sweet, a young man at one end of the little square shaped park, a sweet young girl at the other end, looking at each other with so desperate glimpses, as they were statues and could not move. . . . . . |
| | “Ah! My arrows or my trident can’t help with statues” thought great hearted Cupidon, “they are so sweet, romantic, may be looking at each other since a century or more, in love since hundred years and nobody helps them. . . . . let’s use magic. . . “ |
| | And. . . . swoosh, he used his magic and the statues became like Human. “You have exactly 10 minutes to. . . errr, . . . do what you have to do. . . . told Cupidon, then you must be back on your pedestals, or you disappear in dust!” |
| | The two statues did not need to be told a second time. . . . they rushed behind a ivy shrub and. . . . ah, Cupidon was happy to have done something good for these beautiful statues, raised his eyes to the sky, hearing Aaaaaahaaaaah, Oooooh, hmmmhmmhm, and lots of other noise coming from behind the shrub. . . . . |
| | 9 Minutes and 58 seconds later, the statues were back on their pedestals, looking “relieved”; Cupidon was in a good day. . . he told them: ”I give you 10 minutes more”, with a great smile, and a small tear rolling on his cheek, so moved he was by these two statues. . . . |
| | Again the statues rushed behind the ivy shrub, and Cupidon, curious, went closer and he heard the girl statue telling to the young man: “My turn now!! You hold the pigeons and I sh!t on them”. |

robertgaz Fri May 9, 2008 23:17 UTC Cupidon's lovers made of stone; went behind a bush; and he heard a moan; he took a look and what did he see;a trapped little birdy; 'neath a porcelain throne! | icunme Mon May 5, 2008 13:53 UTC Hilarious, hysterical and in true Hermann style - the cupidon statues story swirled me in my swivel chair! | GitteK Sun Apr 6, 2008 12:25 UTC I am so impressed by your reports !! You really get around to those special places I also adore. You even added some to my list ! Merci ! | Kuznetsov_Sergey Sun Mar 2, 2008 15:46 UTC Thank you Hermann for your postcard! The Church looks from outside very unusual for Orthodox churches... Oh I see, I've read it was a Lutheran church before. Great start on Paris! |
