Art at Fiesole

Modern art at Fiesole, which origin is even older then Florence. Fiesole is up in the mountain and the city of Florence is a wonderful sight from there.
Fiesole had to hand over its power to Florence soon after the establishment of Florence. There was no room for growth at their site. Still a place to see, with a nice museum and very recognisable remains of the Roman Empire.

At the same square of the modern art, this classical statue of the power handover from Garibaldi to Victor Emmanuel II is located.

The Roman theatre

Even better remains then in Volterra is this Roman theatre preserved.

Also from this point of view, the theatre looks very good preserved!

Just as at Volterra, this theatre site had a badinghouse. Here a view at the ruines of it.

The church

Everywhere in Tuscany you will find wonderful churches like here in fiesole. The tower is build out of nature stones and will outlive us all.

And, as a kind of gift, this very nice and beautiful interior. Imagine the pipe organ playing as we came in. It realy did!

The Car

Just to make you jalous, this pic.
No, this was NOT the car we made the tour with! Our's was new and of an Italien brand (Fiat). And ofcourse you noticed the Belgian licence number. But it makes a nice pic, doesnt it?
