Xenne's travels

by Mique - last update: May 31, 2008

A final feed at Schiphol airport by aunt Mirjam
Ok, almost 11 weeks old and already a world traveler first class (end of march 2008).

So far Xenne has been in the Netherlands (were he was born), Thailand, Burma, Thailand again (for a holiday with his grandparents to Bangkok and Chiang Mai) and now we're back in Burma (May 2008).
Xenne in the special baby 'bed; in the airplane
Xenne didn't mind being in the airplane at all. he had a nice little crib-kind of thing that was attached to the wall just in front of me. And there was no shortage of people who wanted to look after him whenever i needed to do something (i think every stewardess and even the steward held him during our 11 hour flight).
Watching the streets of Bangkok
Probably one of Xenne's most beloved activities is being driven around in a car. he watches the scenery for a while and than decides to fall asleep. After all, sightseeing can be quite tiring...
Xenne in his impromptu bed
Xenne's dad had forgotten to bring the baby bed with him. The first few nights in Bangkok we stayed in a hotel that had a baby bed. Something we had arranged at the airport but we didn't like the place so went somewhere else. And needed a baby bed. This is the final solution we came up with. The blue thing i had already with me and the duck we bought in Bangkok. You can make it into a bed of sorts but this was easier and this way he also had a play area during the day (we dragged the whole thing to the balcony on a regular basis).
In the train from Chaing Mai to BKK
Of course, a traveller - no matter how small he or she is -doesn't stay put for very long. So Xenne went on holiday in Thailand in May 2008 to see his grandparents who flew over from Europe.
With his mum and dad in the train
Xenne didn't mind the long train travel at all. We did a day trip and an over-nighter. With both he was fine. During the day trip he was awake most of the day which meant that he was too tired that evening and during the following days (after all, he was only 4 months). The night trip was much better for him. He slept soundly next to me. Unfortunately, i didn't sleep much. Too alert to any sound or move from Xenne to sleep well.
