We had company in March 2006, so traveled in southwestern New Mexico and southeastern Arizona but no time to do tips yet. Just got back from Bolivia 10 May 06 and then off to California on business. In Jul 06 it will be Dallas and Port of Spain, Trinidad, for a family reunion and wedding, respectively. In Bolivia, we donated books to three schools and visited many interesting places. The Fiesta de las Cruces in Copacabana was fun but my favorite new place was
Coquesa at the base of Volcan Thunupa (17,800 ft) on the northern edge of the Salar de Uyuni. The vistas are spectacular and almost no one is there (even including the locals). Check out my new
Uyuni pages if you want to know more about 4WD tours in the Salar de Uyuni and the surrounding areas both to the south and to the north.
