I was about to lose a free Southwest Airlines ticket at the end of July 2006, so I took a short vacation to Havre de Grace, MD, and Pen Argyl, PA. Havre de Grace was for the beauty, crab cakes and memories (I used to go to that area on business), and Pen Argyl was to visit my brother and his family. I have done some tips on Pen Argyl but still need to do Havre de Grace.

Labor Day weekend (1-4 Sep 06) was the VT Artists' Retreat. I have it pretty well documented in my Questa, NM, tips. Although I had a great time in northern New Mexico, I did not get a chance to go fishing. The next weekend I popped up to the Jemez National Forest to try my luck; however, it had been raining, the river was murky, and I just caught a couple of Rio Grande chubs. It was a beautiful day though.
