Play Ball, Baby!

I love Baseball!

Fenway Park, Boston
I love baseball. I look forward to the season starting all winter long. I read all the spring training news in the paper every single morning during February and March. Sometimes I even watch those old "classic" games on ESPN. I have baseball games on DVD, too! During baseball season I almost never miss a game. When I'm traveling I bug people incessantly to look up scores on their mobile phones. I've watched play-off games in both Spanish and French (via satellite) when visiting other countries. I even once convinced a bartender in Mexico City to change the television to a Red Sox/Yankees playoff game when half the people in there were watching something else!

I'm from New England, which means that I'm a Red Sox fan, and I truly love them with all of my heart. You might think that sounds crazy, but I don't care, and neither would any other Red Sox fan, because I can guarantee you that every one of us feels the same way. In fact, people in New England are so Red Sox crazy that even the team's announcers have their own fan clubs!

Someday, I'd like to see a game in every major league park in the U.S. I'd also love to see a few games in Japan, Cuba, Mexico and the Domincan Republic. Doesn't that sound like fun?
Safeco Field
Here 's a shot of lovely Safeco Field in Seattle. What a nice park. They serve fish and chips here. I think that's cool!
ˇTe Amo Papi!

ˇMi Papi!

This is David Ortiz, the Red Sox' DH. No one on earth can crack one out of the park like he can. Papi used to be on the Minnesota Twins. I bet they feel pretty dumb for trading him! I love Papi. I have a little button on the sun visor in my car that says so.
Olympic Stadium, Montreal

The Montreal Expos

My family is from Montreal, so of course I was a big fan of the Expos, but Montreal is not a good market for baseball, and after many years of struggling financially the team was sold. They're now known as the Washington Nationals. Sigh. I used to love to see games in Montreal. You could walk right up and get great seats on game day. The exchange rate made it even better!
LaLacheur Park, Lowell

The Lowell Spinners

The Lowell Spinners are my local minor league team, Red Sox farm team class A. They have a great little stadium down by the Merrimack River, and tickets only cost about $8!
Curt!

Curt Schilling

After some serious thought I've decided that Curt Schilling is my favorite baseball player of all time. He's a pitcher for the Red Sox. The man is a warrior. We never would have won the 2004 World Series without him--or the 2007 for that matter. He loves Boston the way we love him. He's got a serious shoulder injury right now which is depressing. Get well soon, Curt!

Take Me Out to a Ball Game!

Got major league baseball tickets that you don't know what to do with? Have tickets, but no one to take with you to the game? Call me up! :)))

Something Cool for Baseball Fans

Here's something cool: If you use Firefox as your Web browser you can customize your window with your favorite team! I have a Red Sox browser. I love it because I can look at Fenway Park, Jason Varitek, Papi and Mike Lowell allllll day long. Cut and past this link to check it out: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:2/cat:26

Thanks for visiting New Bedford. Each time I go, I think I should have spent more time there. I'll be back there again, no doubt.

I think so.... You know, I can never remember how we do it. Canada trust should be able to figure it out. The US and Canuck dollar are almost par again.
