Our Garden is 17 this year!

by ranger49 - last update: Feb 13, 2008

From meadow to garden

When we bought this house and moved in - in May 1991 - the garden was just wall to wall grass - of meadow quality. Lots of ideas were thrown at us about how to develop it, including the gift of a complete Garden Design witha full planting scheme from a professional garden designer friend. But we wanted to grow into the house and the space, and test out our own ideas in a way that would allow the garden to evolve and change over time. We spent a lot of our spare time in the early years both before and after our retirement not so much "working in the garden" but creating the garden. It has gone through several life changes just as we have and I am sure there will be many more.

Hi Barbara, thanks for your comment. I try to find some time to put in order pictures and write some impressions from my last holiday.

Hi Barbara, the view is great and it isnt that poor building's fault to have been built for a crazy dictator, but it is of course a shame that some stupid people still go there as a kind of "pilgrimage" to places where AH spent some days of his life...

Well, if you fidn yourself between St Paul and Maury buying Marc Majorals lovely wine, tell him Mdme "Ardy from le Vivier recommended him, he will be tickled pink! And try and get to Ansignan to see the Aqueduct and buy their Blancquette - delicous!
