Key West - I did it
HELLO PAPA ...
A hole is filled. I feel empty no more. I lived in Miami for 18 years, visited Key Hope Sound, BUT had not visited Key West. Corny, maybe, but it was a BIG HOLE in my existential experiences. SO ...I went and visited Key West, the south most point in continental US.
For some reason, it was important, so I drove from Orlanda to Saint Petersburg to Homestead to Key West and back the same way. Folks it feels wonderful. I have covered Florida by car. From North to South. From East to West, from coast to coast.

It was quite a pleasnt surprise - a museum dedicated to Salvador Dali

Directions from Tampa:
1 - take I-275 southbound across the Howard Frankland Bridge to St. Petersburg.
2 - take exit #22 (I-175 E) towards Tropicana Field (exit will be on your left.)
3 - Follow until end
4 - continue through light to 3rd Street S.
Take a right onto 3rd Street South.
Continue 1/2 mile - Dali Museum will be on your left.

If you are in Miami ...
at the airport, for less than 4 hours , please stay at the airport, dont even bother leaving the area
ok , you have 4 hours , give yourself 2 hours for check-out and check-in and get ready ..
a - take a taxi and visit Historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables
b - take a taxi and go for an authentic Cuban treat "Arroyo Con Pollo"
c - take a taxi and go for a Cuban coffee
d - take a taxi and go for fruit juice
OK overnight at the airport - I would prefer to stay near the airport, make a late night out and go to Bayside or South Beach or Coconut Grove or to Micousoukee Resort
2 days ? I would LIVE in Coconut Grove or South Beach or Key Biscayne and just take it all in !
3 days ? now you are talking - drag the kids to Vizcaya or Key Biscayne or to Key Largos or to Everglades or to South Beach or to Coconut Grove or to Bayside , or Crandon Park. Oh man, there is so much to do , 3 days wont be enough, can you stay longer ?
Sanibel Island from Miami, round trip by car will take you 6-7 hours, so give yourself a full day, at least.
Orlando from Miami, round-trip by car will take you 9 hours. Give yourself at least 3 days.
Key West from Miami, round-trip by car will take you 10 hours minimum, may take longer, so give yourself at least 3 days, 4 is better
