Turkey is without doubt one of the most amazing places on earth. It's history, culture and politics set it apart from many places and we continue to have a love for this country that is unshrinkable.

Bodrum is sometimes called the St Tropez of Turkey and is is certainly both sophisticated and glamorous, but it is also relaxed and unintimidating.
Great for a holiday no matter what your age, interests or budget...

We had a wicked night at Murphy's Bar in Gumbet and they had an Elvis impersonator - who was actually very good!

He was from Canada and visited Bodrum after a brief rendition of the "King" in Athens.

My brother was less than impressed but that's youth for you!!

As a family we have grown quite attached to Murphy's Bar in Gumbet (and also in it's previous incarnation as the Shamrock Bar).

This is the bar where I met my fella 8 years ago...

No holiday is complete without nights spent in here moaning about how things used to be when more Irish people came to this area of Turkey. It's been a while since the bar was full to the rafters with paddy's on a night out...

No evening in Bodrum can begin without the obligatory stop off at Jimmy's Bar for a pint of Efes and a chill out to comtemplate on the world...and to watch the dangerous car drivers on the bend into the town!

Another bar that has gotten very much quieter over the years as trade has changed and fewer British and Irish stay at this end of the town.
