Some "arty" Photos

by johngayton - last update: Nov 16, 2007

Instow From The Tarka Trail
I'm not usually one for attempting "arty" photos but the light was perfect and so I had few little experiments and here they are:
The New Bridge At Bideford
I kinda like this bridge, there's an asthetic cleanliness to its lines which I don't find discordant with its surroundings - if something as utilitarian as this (which takes most of the through traffic away from the town) has to be done then this a pretty good example of how to do it.

OPEN TO DISCUSSION ;)
Hitchcock had to have his trained - these just decided to flock around me for no particular reason, I didn't even have any food on me!
THE BIRDS!
New Behind Old
This appealed to me as a contrast in the constructions and both bridges have equal merits and equal functions!
The light was so good on the day, creating all sorts of visual effects, and so all the photos were taken just with the camera on auto.
Bird and Bridge
Devon Flag!
Not mine but I did fly a similar one from the mast of our boat going to Santorini for Euromeet 2007 (which now flies outside my bedroom window). Devon IS green and our skies are Devon Blue (which is also one of our superb local cheeses)!!
OK there's perhaps too much sky in this but I wanted to catch the bird in the top corner - great light tho'.
Light, Shadow and Bird
The 3 Bears?
I just love it when a photo just presents itself and provides its own theme ;)

Wow - the sky was piercing blue, John and so nice of you to stop by the gallery. My number one photo is the one of the two bridges. Hugs, Marina
