| Former AMc(U)-11, Blackbird, from 1956 |
|  | Sister Ship of the Husky II Four LCI(L)'s were given to the US Maritime Commission in 1947-48 (532, 570, 574 and 589). I wondered if the Husky II could have been one of them. It turned out that 589 was converted to the underwater locator minesweeper, AMc(U)-7. Could 589 be the Husky II? There was no picture for the AMc(U)-7 but I found this picture of the former AMc(U)-11, Blackbird, from 1956. It looks very similar to the Husky II in the old pictures. We think the Husky II is the former LCI(L) 589! |
