Mike was able to find some old pictures of the Husky II. They pretty much confirm that it was originally a LCI(L). Compare it to the next picture and see what you think.

Sister Ship of the Husky II

Four LCI(L)'s were given to the US Maritime Commission in 1947-48 (532, 570, 574 and 589). I wondered if the Husky II could have been one of them. It turned out that 589 was converted to the underwater locator minesweeper, AMc(U)-7. Could 589 be the Husky II? There was no picture for the AMc(U)-7 but I found this picture of the former AMc(U)-11, Blackbird, from 1956. It looks very similar to the Husky II in the old pictures. We think the Husky II is the former LCI(L) 589!

You can see some of the lumber that they used to haul to Bethel.
