Hello, my name is Grace. I don't know why my mother named me Grace because she cannot pronounce it properly. She says Gre-shee. I am Japanese, born and raised here in California. I got married when I was 22 years. My daughter was born when I was 29. My husband passed away when I was 35. Technically, that makes me a widow. I had been with my husband for a total of 15 years.
About a year after his death, I met a guy through work. He worked for a company who was a customer of the company I worked for. We ended up living together for 9 years. We never married because he experienced a very bitter divorce and never wanted to go through it again. I think in the end, that benefited me more than him. The relationship didn't work out, so I moved on.
I bought myself a small house (with the help of my parents). I like it but it has it's drawbacks. I wish it was in a quieter neighborhood and I would like to have a swimming pool, bigger bathroom and bigger dining room. But for now, it's great! |
| | About a year and half after my last relationship ended, my daughter suggested I start dating. Hmmm...How do I date? I'm too old to go to bars or dance clubs to meet men and there was no one at work I would want to date. So, I joined a couple of dating sites on the net. Wow, that was a stressful process! Luckily, I didn't have a bad experience with it, just awkward mostly. I have to say, as a woman, you need to be very careful about who you meet and how you meet them. I think it's a great tool to meet people.
So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 years now. We have our separate homes but are together almost any spare time we have. Mainly, the weekends and dinner once during the work week. It's been a blast because we travel, enjoy eating out, go to concerts and plays, work on home projects, etc. |
| | Other info, I currently work in Rancho Cucamonga for a family owned company that owns several automotive retail stores. The best company I have ever worked for or ever plan to work for! It feels like we're one big family. Not many people can say that.
Fun facts, for 27 years, I had curly hair (permed). Now, it's straight. I was a cheerleader in high school. I was shot in the arm by a stranger with a 357 magnum trying to steal my car (corvette). I collect Hard Rock Cafe pins from the HRC's I have visited.
I really enjoy music all the time. Some of my favorites are Paul Taylor, Dishwalla, Alicia Keys, Seal, U2, Damien Rice and Lenny Kravitz.
Favorite movies are Amelie, As Good As It Gets, Pulp Fiction, Something About Mary, Silence of the Lambs, Seven, So I Married An Axe Murderer, everything by M. Knight Shyamalan, anything with Denzel Washington. I've been reading but I'm not too quick at it. So far my favorite books are by Dan Brown and Paulo Coelho. I like to cook and I like drinking red wine. I like to drive, especially my new car (a hybrid vehicle). I have no pets. My daughter has two snakes and a parakeet. I can go on and on about more stuff but then it's not all that exciting. |

| | So, in a nutshell, my life has been some what predictable and mostly unpredictable. My daughter is 21 now and self sufficient even though she still lives with me. If I were to die tomorrow, I will have lived a fulfulling life but I don't want it to end just yet. I find myself living for the moment instead of the future because I don't know when that will be. I feel fortunate to have experienced all that I have. My goal is to travel to places I haven't been and revisit the places I didn't finish seeing. |
