On the water - Views of Boston Harbor

It's nice to step away

What a lovely welcome to the city!
and realize what a beautiful city I live in. Here are some harbor shots I recently took while on a work outing to Thompson Island.

It's new. It's improved!

Here's the new Federal courthouse building.

Dreaming...

Like any city waterfront, ours is filled with beautiful boats and yachts. There are also some beautiful waterfront homes. Wouldn't it be nice to get to live in one of them?
A clear day

View One

Here's Boston in the morning as we departed for the island.

View Two

And here's the same view on our way back. The sun now causing a silhoutte effect along with some dramatic streaky (Okay, I don't know the scientific name) clouds
Which do you prefer?
The fort

Castle Island

And here's the fort at Castle Island. What I didn't capture in my photos (and remember from having lived in South Boston where I used to go for walks here all the time) is all the planes that - depending on the wind - can pass by really closely while either taking off or landing. On that day, they were taking off.

Is this a tall ship?

I don't know what qualifies a boat as a tall ship. Is it the mast? Well anyway, here's one that I thought was beautiful. It was packed full of people so it's possible that it can be hired. Hmmm... would be nice!
Now that's my idea of a beautiful boat!

The Boston Harbor Hotel...location is the most important thing for me. So thanks for the tip.

I'm doing fine, Joann...lots of work, not as much time for fun, but it's a living! You?

Cheers for the heads up on the Harbour Hotel, it looks the Dogs, bit more expensive than I would have liked, but its perfect

Ah, I thought she looked like Juma -- she has that sweet Rhodesian Ridgeback face. I'm glad she's better.
