"Inside The Palace Of Versailles" Paris Travelogue by Mikebb

We took a guided tour through the palace and were amazed by the many magnificent rooms. The palace was crowded with tourists but it was one of our best days in Paris.

The Queen's Bed

As you would expect this was a most luxurious room, the decoration was superb.

The Ornate Canopy Over The Queen's Bed

The Queen's bedroom was a very large room with a magnificent canopy over the bed.

Mirror and Mantle - Queen's Bedroom

You will see the young lady on the right, she was our guide and her expert commentary enhanced our tour.

Statute Of The King

There were many decorations, statutes etc throughout the palace but this marble statute of the King really stood out.

Detailed Room Decoration

All rooms were lavishly decorated and remain so after several centuries.

Ceiling - Hall Of Mirrors

The Hall of Mirrors is very spectacular, it was here that the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919 to formally end World War1.
