I knew from the moment we landed in Honolulu that I was going to love Hawaii. Not because the airport offered anything special, it was that tropical warmth i could feel creeping in as we went about going through customs etc... I was certainly not disappointed! We made our way to our hotel _ The Ohana Waikiki West - and made ourselves at home in our 2 bedroom appartment on the top floor with views of the mountains the city of Honolulu and the beach! I was in heaven!
Off we went exploring Waikiki Beach and the surrounding streets mesmerised by the variety of shops and people and how happy and friendly everyone was and when I found out that most of the shops didn't close until 11pm I was on a mission! As soon as the kids were in bed I left my Dad & Husband to watch over them while Mum & I went for a wander through the International Market Place. Many of the shops were similar selling sarongs and jewellry, hibiscus print shirts, dresses, shorts - well bloody everything had an hibiscus on it! There were a few unique shops thrown in amongst the loud fabric shops with treasures and souviners that appealed to us far more and it became a quest to find them - which we did!
