Favourite b + w photos - people.

by pfsmalo - last update: Dec 14, 2007

Cambodian beauty.
One of the things that I find great since I switched to digital is the ability to change from colour to b + w or sepia at will. I find that many portraits are enhanced when in b + w. But there is always the solution of Photoshop if I don't have the time to switch over. That is why some of these portraits are direct b + w and some worked on slightly in Photoshop. Salesgirl at a ceramics shop in Kompong Chnang, Cambodia. Transformed on Photoshop and added a bit of contrast. Is much better than the original.
Pretty little girl, 3 y.o. Duong Dong, Vietnam.
Taken on the street by the bridge in Duong Dong, Phu Quoc island, Vietnam
Found this fellow on a trail near Playku in the central highlands of Vietnam. With the help of our guide and a couple of cigarettes he obliged me with this super one-toothed smile.
Bahnar man Playku, Vietnam.
Bamata-to in Kalabougou, Mali.
Originally in colour, once again transformed on Photoshop. Taken of a little girl in Kalabougou, Mali in 1999. I returned earlier this year (2007) found her and gave her this photo. See her transformation on my Kalabougou tip page in Mali.
Taken one evening at Mopti along the riverbank.
Young Peulh (or Fulani) in Mopti,Mali.
Girl in Ganvié, Benin.
This was taken as I was returning to the dock in Ganvié. She was sitting here looking after a couple of goats.
Taken in an out of the way, name unknown village near Sadec. We had stopped to buy some sweets and stuff for a few kids that were by a small grocers and this little girl just smiled, and I took a couple of shots.
Nice smile near Sadec, Vietnam.
Statuesque beauty in Gaoua, Burkina Faso.
This is the chief guide and curator Marie-Claire at the museum in Gaoua, Burkina Faso, taken whilst waiting for lunch. If you're in the area she is the one to see to tell you all about the Lobi people.

Was still a good game, and I'm really glad to see Sth Africa getting the success at the moment. Lets share it around, but oh just leave out that other team, hahahaha. (kidding).
