Amsterdam Historisch Museum - Paintings 17th.c.

"Gouden Leeuw" and "Rotterdam" staten yacht
Here a few photos of 17th.c. paintings starting with Willem Van de Velde the Younger and his "Gouden Leeuw" the flagship of admiral C. Tromp.
Left of the famous ship the Staten Yacht "Rotterdam" (1686).

Two other paintings with typical Dutch Winterscenes by Jan Beerstraten (1650) and H. Avercamp (1615). This winterscene shows Colf Players on Ice; the Hockey on ice of that time!

 Me again, coming back to look at your fine updates since February 24, 2008. I've never been to the Amsterdam Historic Museum but will definitely go there on my next visit. Interesting that people are now 25 cm taller than in the 18th century.
