Sunyani is the main town of the Brong-Ahafo Region. There are +/- 85000 inhabitants. It is situed 127 km North-West from Kumasi on the main road Kumasi - Abidjan.
There is nothing special in this city.
However, there are plenty beautiful parks around the city, but there is no touristic infrastructure.
You will find some supermarkets and banks, but this region is very wild and you won't see plenty modern infrastructures. The people of Sunyani and suburbs are very hospitable.
I didn't sleep in many hotels, just one not too bad and very cheap considering the prices in Accra.
EBENEZER HOTEL and RESTAURANT.
CATERING REST HOUSE also, better quality but more expensive (5$ for one night in a double room with airco self contained with hot water).

BUI NATIONAL PARK.
Around the Black Volta, in a very nice tropical forest, you will be able to see hippos, antelopes, monkeys, baboons, buffalos and the last elephants as well as plenty different birds.
(I never saw elephants, but they say there are still some few ones in the park).
