Resume to Run Again

by bkoon - last update: Jul 5, 2007

It's hard to believe but I was a couch-potato for many many months before I decide to resume running again. There's absolutely no excuse to stop running, especially when I am an advocate for sports. Just the other day, Her World asked me which is the sport which is really getting momentum and popular amongst women and the answer I gave was running. Well, with so many running events (the women-only ones especially) in a calendar year, there are more and more opportunities for people to "look forward" to something - like completing in XXX Race.

I have a goal. The goal is to complete the 10km at the end of the year at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Bok promised me he's going to do that too.

The Anlene Orchard Mile Run 2007. It was only 1.6km and quite fun.

My first run. Ran from office to first bridge during lunch time. Weather was bad but I enjoyed it. Yeah!!

It was the MILK Run. I signed up for the 4km Community Run. Boo boo... I did not go. I needed to work on a project with a sponsor at the very last minute. So, I missed it. As I told myself I needed to do something, I went downstairs and ran the 4km on the treadmill. Goodness. I almost died. After the run and working out on the staked weights, I was enjoying the breeze by the pool. It was so relaxed. Love the feeling.

3 of us arranged for a session at the gym downstairs. By the time I came home, 2 of them already completed their cardio workout on the treadmill. I did a short 3km on the machine and some resistance training after that. A great stress-reliever.
