For most people who know me, I am one of the most adventurous and athletic person on this side of the planet. Although I regularly participate in popular sports like Basketball, volleyball, badminton, cycling, rock climbing, it was RUNNING that I love. I LOVE it primarily for four (4) main reasons:
1. Chance to travel to different places
2. Health reasons (weight reduction and stamina bldg)
3. Social purposes (a venue for meeting old & new friends)
4. Personal Challenge
I like it because of the thrill it brings --TRAVELLING.
Jogging from one place to the other is one of the best discoveries I made in my life. And I have promised myself to do this for the rest of my life. Also other than health benefits it gives (weight reduction and stamina building); in RUNNING you got the chance to meet a lot of people. That is why they are called
FUN RUNS!,
HOW I STARTED WITH THIS?
After graduating in college, my friends & I became “busy” with our own lives as working men. Though we meet regularly, most of it would be thru the several drinking sessions. Soon our tummies became bigger, Weight became much heavier. Still we meet and drink. But sooner we became busier and got tired of drinking.
It was one Sunday afternoon while playing basketball with my friends that I realized that there is something wrong with us. We easily get tired after few minutes of running. (Maybe because of the endless drinking sessions we had at night) In most sports esp. basketball, Endurance is one of the keys of the game. I know there must be something we need to do about it. Until one day I saw in the newspaper ads about the incoming fun runs. Immediately, I grab the phone and went on to register. Soon my other friends followed me. And so the fun run begins...
