Well in this shot you can see I am seriously overdressed for the beach but it was early in my holiday and I have skin that can burn so quickly.
Gumbet beach is approximately 10 minutes drive from Bodrum by either taxi or Dolmus (Taxi's are much more expensive for the last 2 years so a Dolmus may be a cheaper option if yoy intended to go to Gumbet regularly). It is not the best beach on the peninsula - Bardakci (you can get a boat transfer from the Marina area), or further afield to Turgetreis or Yalikavak offer nicer beaches but Gumbet is handy and has a large stretch of beach so you are never too crowded together. There is a wide range of water sports available and if you venture into Gumbet town there is no shortage of restaurants, cafes and shops that offer cheap food and drink. |
