The Marina area sweeps around the harbour (Neyzen Tevfik Cadessi) and along the side are gulets and yachts moored, it is a long road but makes a lovely stroll especially at luchtime when the area winds down for a couple of hours as the real heat kicks in. The road is lined with palm trees and at lunchtime you will see many Turkish gentlemen having a relaxing chill out. The gulets are all trying to sell you boat trips and some are for ferrying passengers to other beaches on the Peninsula. Just over the hills in the background is the town of Gumbet - another beach resort in its own right. This road is a handy place to get a taxi or dolmus to Gumbet actually. |

| | Bob does the Marina... Bob seen here, rather unusually, in a skirt. You will notice that Bob is not at all shy and loves having her picture taken. I'm not sure why she has her own VT pages since she is featuring so heavily in my travel pages :-) |

| | Neyzen Tevfik Cadessi The Marina area has a different feel and appeal to other parts of Bodrum. There are boutique style hotels, wide promenades, palm trees and cafes, bars and supermarkets. The Oasis shopping centre is fairly exclusive and is set next door to the Marina Yacht Club. They have little stores selling beach wear, scuba equipment and there is a baby supermarket - sister to the giant one on the main highway to Gumbet. There is even a Marks and Spencers along this road for those Brits who can't bare to be without it! |
| | How Bazaar!!! Bodrum has a great shopping area. Its atmosphere is probably better than the goods it sells - although Turkeys lack of copyright law has made it the centre and world expert at fake leather and clothing goods. It's a busy and crowded thoroughfare where you can watch Turks doing their day to day business. This part of Bodrum is maze like and takes a few days to get used to where each of the roads leads to - however it is fairly difficult to get truly lost as all roads lead to the beach front or the marina side (the locals wil help you find your way!). |
| Bob braved the feline after losing one arm... |
| | Cats sleep anywhere... Bodrum is full of cats! There are so many stray cats lurking and looking for food and fuss and I'm not a cat person. Bob is and she's a sucker for a cat sob story..meow!! This cat came to see her at Jimmy's Bar and he was quite persistent - a Turkish trait to be sure :-) However cute they are they are actually very likely to be riddled with fleas and once you make friends with one that's it.. |
| "Not another *!?* photograph!" |

| "You put superglue where???" |
