Animals in and around the house

by 20011019 - last update: May 30, 2007

Itsy bitsy spider!
He used to have a nest next to the front door, but fortunately for me he moved to a place a bit further (that is - 4 metres from the back door)

I'll show you some animals in and around the house, but ofcourse there are some more interesting animals, but harder to capture. For example; toekans, arara's, snakes, pink dolphins (just loads of them), pirarucu, bicho do pregico, monkeys etc. It never ends I guess
Little snake in the swimming pool. The swimming pool attracts a lot of animals, but it's great to have it! It's deep and refreshing; especially after a day of hard work. My parents created a system which supplies fresh drinkwater from the ground. We drink wash and swim from this water!
But the snakes do to from time to time

DO NOT DISTURB

Sht.. they're making out! I got a bit embarassed looking at it, cause it has so much similarities with the human way of doing it! haha
A big spider in the swimming pool, I'm sorry I don't know all the names in English, once I do, I'll write them down. This spider can swim, jump and climb, which makes it more horrifying to photograph, but I just had to!
I know, I know, It seems just a dark photo but it's not. I've been camping out for about an hour to make this picture. It's a crocodile, if you look closely you'll see a red spot, which is it's eye. There are a lot of crocodiles on the river but always hard to capture by camera. At night we'll go looking for crocodiles, by the space between it's two eyes, some people can determine how big it is and sometimes we'll eat it. I'm sorry, but I'll have to admit, it just tastes wonderful!
Who said anything about cockroaches? Ever seen one 10 times bigger than the usual one?
A little monkey, this one was injured, so he had to wear a bandaid which was so UNCOOL, he thought
A very special turtle, it looks ugly, and it is ugly, but it's a very special one. Someone told us it's one of a prehistorical kind, I don't know if it's true, but anyway; we try to protect it. Everyone just loves to eat turtle so it wouldn't harm them to have some friends on their side.
