My buying experience: I researched prices and contacted a handful of Audi dealerships in my area to lease an A4 Cabriolet. After talking with Vince Teichman, at Santa Monica Audi, we settled on a detailed confirmed deal which I verified several times in writing before coming to the dealer. I am super busy, and don't have time to go into 12 dealers just to get a song and dance. Anyway, after repeated assurances that the deal was confirmed and that I would not be wasting my time by coming down, I went to Santa Monica Audi on April 19, 2007 with check in hand. There, Vince handed me off to Abtin Navab who was to conduct the deal. Instead of just proceeding to the deal, Abtin gave me the song and dance and bait and switch routine. I had to insist upon getting the deal that I had confirmed in writing. I even had to show the papers Vince Teichman had sent me.
Clearly disgruntled, Abtin Navab gave me what he called "an initial signed deal" on a car (that was to be delivered on the 23rd) which included taking over my last payment and transition my current car with 0 money down. We shook hands and off I went annoyed that I had to go through the hassle and weasel tactics, but willing to wait for the car to be delivered from the port. Naturally the car missed the delivery date, and I kept waiting and calling, waiting and calling. Abtin kept insisting was just delayed. Well, of course, the car never came in, and then amazingly this buffoon, Abtin Navab, stopped returning my calls. Not only did I waste time going through this ruse, but I had cancelled my lease-end inspection and came close to missing out on my final payment.
It's a joke that this ever happened, and even more ridiculous that these buffoons started NOT returning calls. And the manager Sam Dajani was also similarly unreliable and unresponsive. Of course, don't even bother with the Audi consumer advocate.
Abtin Navab and Vince Teichman, his henchman, were weasels throughout the process. They tried to lure me in and then bait and switch me. When I wouldn't cave in, they resorted to dirty tricks. If I had been a litigious person, a clear lawsuit would have ensued.
In the end, I got my car from another Audi dealer in town and it was a great experience. As I was leaving town, they even helped me conduct the lease end inspection on lot and coordinated with the dent wizard guy, handling the hand off and all the rest. Since then, I've also had GREAT success with a broker too on my next Audi A5. Very easy with no hassles. There are a lot of options for getting an Audi - there's no reason to put up with this kind of bush league nonsense.

Oh! I didn't know Santa Monica was another city! Haha! I like this part too 10x more than LA! Haha! I love your hollywood tourist trap- so honest, true and funny! I also agree- it's a lot of red light and drug addicts that move in that place!
Thanks for recommending HI-Hostel for me in Santa Monica. I just arrived here on Sunday and am staying for a few more days and so far its been a great experience. I am loving California and having a great time. So thanks for all your tips!
