Kelli & Tom's Wedding 2007

by aussirose - last update: Jan 3, 2009

Most of you know that my lovely daughter Kelli has just married the man of her dreams, Tom.
Friday, 30 November 2007 finally arrived. The weather forecast was a few showers, however we woke to brilliant sunshine after a bit of rain overnight.
Champas breakky and being amongst hairdressers, florists and make up artists, all Kelli's friends.....we had no trouble with the fashion preparations.
The hilight of the day was a big black stretch hummer to transport the wedding party, followed by 2 black limos for the rest of us. We all felt like gansters and the colour choice fitted in well :o)
Of course I'd love to just keep talking about how wonderful it was, but I think that pictures tell a better story....so for those that are viewing this right now......Just be patient - I'm about to create a travelogue of the day below.
aussirose's daughter Kelli's wedding

The happy bridal party at Hillarys Boat Harbour.
I tell you, this was THE BEST WEDDING!! :o)
These days, with all the expensive hoohaa....I can totally recommend to 'Keep it simple' ..... and that is what we did.
Of course you have to start the day off with a Champas breakky :o) Everyone was a little nervous so we drank more champas and forgot about the food haha.....but Kelli's poppy, who came all the way from Sydney made the best bbq bacon, mexican sausage, egg, tomato and mushroom breakky!!
btw, I'd like to take a moment to remember how happy I was to see Howard's sister Debra and his dad.....aforementioned poppy, when we went to pick them up from the airport. I havn't seen them in years....especially Debra, and we just got on like a house on fire. I miss her already :o( and we only just took them back to the airport yesterday....
Anyway, I've encouraged her to join vt so that we can keep in touch more often. .....How good is this site, hey!! :o)

The phone rang and we were notified that the hummer was going to be late due to a flat tyre.
Well thank goodness!!....because we needed to get Kelli's dress on and do her makeup....and of course have another champas :o)
But when it did arrive, just imagine all the oooo's and aaaah's!! Wow!! This thing was big!! :o)

The hummer was hubby and my present to our daughter and son-in-law :o) .....how nice does that sound :o) (Son-in-Law)....and he's gorgeous :o)
Ok nuf about that - ....anyway most people lash out on something for the wedding.....be it an expensive restaurant or lavish honeymoon.....but Kelli and Tom just wanted a huge hummer!
And I can tell you, it was the best thing we ever did.....the hilight of the wedding was driving down the coast road, stopping off for pix on the beach and the boat harbour and feeling like a million dollars!
The whole wedding party was able to fit in and the memories will last a life time!!
Anyway, let me tell you something funny. All the girls got in the limo first and when Kelli went to get in, she needed for someone to hold her flowers. She asked a couple of times, but the girls were so busy admiring the hummer that they didn't hear her lol.
The next minute Kelli yells "Will someone effing take the flowers!!"
After all, she had a wedding to get to and we were running about 20 minutes late haha.

As you can imagine, I have thousands of pix to sift through and only 8 spaces in which to capture the happy day :o)
Tom and Kelli chose a fantastic spot for their wedding - the Botanical Golf gardens at Joondalup.
Perth, having a mediterranean climate does not have rainforest, however this place has a small pocket with running water, fountains and waterfalls, therefore it is a popular spot for weddings and is reasonably priced too.
The Celebrant did a wonderful job with red carpet and music, the vows were heartfelt and everyone became emotional. Hubby also arranged for some native doves to be set free which I was able to capture on mini video on my camera. Doves are a symbol of eternal love. Did you know that they stay with the same partner for life?....well if not, then you do now :o)
Well a picture tells a thousand words....as you can see. The love in Tom and Kelli's eyes is enough to tell a whole story :o)

Speaking about the happy couple....arn't they adorable.....it was Tom that chased Kelli. Took him a few goes at getting her attention (gee that brings back memories...took hubby a few goes too ;o) .....but the love in this guy's eyes for my daughter is extremely touching.
I know he is going to treat her like a princess......what am I saying?.....he already does haha.

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a wonderful place for photos. We were wondering how the hummer was going to manouver into here, but obviously the driver has done it before :o)
And what a nice spot he picked for photos.
The colour scheme Kelli chose was just devine and the flowers were absolutely stunning!! I think the hats Tom and his brother George wore were just perfect.... The whole thing reminded me of something out of a gangster movie, in fact just in our limo (the adults)....the way hubby was seated at the back, it just looked like he was the king gangster with his entourage lol :o)

Here, you can see how huge the hummer is!
I think the hummer driver was impressed with the wedding too.....
see him in the forground joining in taking pix?!! :o)

Well it's about right now that I think I should give the hummer driver a plug.......what a great guy! ....as was the other limo drivers that we had. Think I should write a tip about it on my Hillarys Boat Harbour page (Mullalloo page here on vt).

Hey good idea! I have a few random and funny wedding pix to show you.....Wait for the coming link. :o)

The reception was held at Hammersley Golf course......guess you are thinking there's a theme here....golf. It's not true. :o) Just so happened that the two places Tom and Kelli picked are golf courses...the former though is mini golf. Friday was a good day to pick as not too many people playing therefore no random balls hit us lol ~.~

Sharon, the Manager at Hammersley did a fantastic job! She really loved our simplicity with coctail bites and wine and beer tab, but the thing she loved the most was Kelli and Tom's keg! Yep, they didn't have a cake....but a wedding keg! (Heinekin)....topped by 2 cute little figurines (Mickey & Minni) all the way from Florida from Ann (TTS).....thank you Ann and Charlie!! :o)

Hubby sang Eagle Rock with the band. btw, we called upon Colin's expertice (Colin from 2Cities1Love here on vt) as Colin is the drummer of a fabulous band here in Perth called Rusty Bullet Hole. I tell you....they ROCK!!! And Sue (the other half of 2Cities1Love) came all the way from Melbourne to join us in the celebrations. Colin & Sue....love you both xx

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you on vt that sent cards and postcards especially for Kelli & Tom. I displayed them in a special scrapbook album and presented it at the reception.
It means the world to them :o) Thank you very much!! Hugs and kisses to all of you!! xxxooo. Love, Ann :o)
