Orcha is six hours journey from delhi. Five hours by train to Ranchi and then one hour by road to Orcha. The word Orchha means 'hidden'. The town is situated on banks of the river Betwa.
It has a very old world feel to it. In fact, once capital of the region, Orcha now looks no bigger than a village. It has impressive palaces, some of them quite nice, but a few in dilapidated condition. But altogether, a good scenic point. Very good for people interested in photography and architecture. Bird lover would be thrilled because the place has good population of now endangered vultures.
The palace also has one small resturant, which is capable to serving decent food. A section of Palace has been converted into heritage hotel and has a few rooms.
