Many friends have asked me about my passion for books, why I collect and what are my favorites. I guess you could say that Science Fiction is my favorite )or at least it has been for the last 45 years or so), but I like science, history and fiction also. I just thought I would take this opportuity to mention a few of the books that I love. Sci Fi: I Sing The Body Electric - Ray Bradbury I Robot - Isaac Asimov Foundation Series - Isaac Asimov Dune Series- Frank Herbert Ringworld Series - Larry Niven Cities in Flight - James Blish Floating Worlds - Cecelia Hollander Fuzzy Sapiens - H. Beam Piper History/Science: The Kon Tiki Expedition - Thor Hyerdahl The Ra Expedition - Thor Hyerdahl Others: The Far Side - Gary Larson I will add more as I think on it. (you don't need to ask, yes I also love sci-fi movies and TV series, Alien, StarTrek, etc.) |
| Working on our Stamp Collection |
This is where I work on my second hobby, STAMP COLLECTING. I collect used stamps from around the world. I have been lucky to have friends who help me "feed my habit" by sending me stamps from places they visit. I also take stamps home from countries that I visit as my souveniers. |
| Zohara, Arie and Leah in Cheese Cave, Israel |
Zohara and I love wine and cheese, so we take trips with friends around Israel searching out new places that produce them. Here Arie and Leah, along with Yossef, Ildico and us of course, found the proverbial hole in the wall..... |
| Yossef and Ildico entering cheese cave, Israel |
Only it was not a hole in the wall, but a HOLE IN THE GROUND. The temperature was perfect for keeping the cheese. This is on the road to Jerusalem, but is difficult to find because there are no signs. |
| Tal and friend Dafne, Arad,Israel |
Okay, okay, so taking pictures of my daughter Tal is not a hobby, maybe properly classified as an obsession, no, not really, just enjoy taking her picture, but not as much as she enjoys me taking them. Caught her here with her friend Dafne (who is by the way the daughter of my oldest friend Menachem here in Israel (since 1972 if I can remember right). |
| Beautiful kids, Arad, Israel |
Okay, okay, so you say enough, and I say never enough. This is a closeup of those two beautiful kids (yes even if I do say so myself), Dafne and Tal. |
| Tal and Martin mountainbiking, Arad, Israel |
Tal just got her new bike and we were going to try it out. We are just across the street from our house and getting ready to descend into the nearest desert dry riverbed. |
| Bomb practice field, Israel |
I think that the fact I like to take pictures is quite evident. Well I also enjoy trying to see things from a different "angle" if you understand what I mean. This pic was taken on a mountain bike trip and the place was an AirForce bombing practice field. The area was full of craters and old military vehicles used for targets. |
