| This is me with my proud mum |
| | 1957 I was born in Kent and made a grand entrance nearly 50yrs ago! God can't believe I'll be that age soon, I still think I'm 25.
My parents split up when I was 8yrs old and then my life became a merry go round as it does when these things happen, but I survived and can happily say I've done 30yrs of marraige this year and hopefully have more to come. My Mum emigrated to Canada when I was 17yrs old taking her then husband his two children and my two sisters with them. I didn't want to go as I was quite happy to stay where I was. I'd just met my husband and was enjoying my new job and having a good time with my friends. I often wonder how my life would have turned out had I taken the plunge and braved it out over there. My two sisters are still there and are true Canadians. It's so sad we don't share each others lives like I wish we could, but the last few years we have seen more of each other with cheaper air fares and being able to afford it a bit more now. I'm about to descend on Canadian ground in June to spend some time with one of my sisters and her family. My daughter wanted to go out there again as she hasn't been back since she was 9yrs old, and wanted me to go along with her. So it's going to be a lovely girls break! A time where we can all be together, aunts, neices and nephews! Something that doesn't happen very often........ |
1962 This is me the big sister, and baby sister Sandie. We had baby sister Bev arrive when I was 12. Sandie is divorced with three children, two son's and 1 daughter.
| | 1980 Bev has been happily married for 19yrs and has one son and one daughter like me! |
1962 This is me with my Dad and sister in my Nan and Grandad's back garden in Guildford. Quite a poser!
| | 1969 This was taken at Hayling Island on a caravan holiday with our Dad. Our parents had split up by then. |
1980 This was a picture of both my parents and my husbands parents together at the same time! My Mum came over from Canada in 1979 to see me as she hadn't seen her first grandchild. My son was almost 2yrs old when she saw him for the first time, and I had just found out I was expecting my second baby. At this time in my life my Mum and Dad decided to get back together after 15yrs, hence my parents together here on my daughters christening day. It didn't last long the reunion, they parted again two years later and my Mum went back to Canada.
| | 1981 These are my babies that are all now grown up and my son is going to be a Dad any day now, and we are going to be nanny and grandad, can't wait. My children have done well and I'm very proud of them. My son now runs his own business and my daughter is a civil servant. |
1988 This is me with my Mum a couple of years before she passed away. She had come over from Canada to see us. I hadn'nt seen her for six years, so it was lovely to have her here and my kids loved having their Canadian nanny making loads of fuss of them. My Mum even went to their school one afternoon to give a talk on Canada. My son was going on about it so much to them in class that his teacher asked if my Mum would come in and talk to the kids about Canadian life. She loved it and brought all the pupils a Canadian flag each.
