| Shrine to Pan, northern Israel |
This is the shrine to the Roman god Pan, found at the northern spring of Banias. |
| Herodian, King Herod's retreat, Israel |
Herodian: One of the many palaces around Israel built by the Roman appointed governor (Herod) of Israel. This along with the ones found at Massada and Cesearia are the best known. |
| Camel milk farm, southern Israel |
This was taken in 2000 at Reuven Agil's Camel Farm. It is near Eilat on the main road from the Dead Sea to Eilat. Reuven has put much study into the use and nutritional values of CAMEL MILK, yes Camel milk. When there you can purchase milk and especially ICE CREAM. The ice cream is great, but you should try all the flavors. |
| Lion Of Tel Hai, north-east Israel |
This is the "Lion Of Tel-Hai". At this spot in the north of Israel several battles for the country were fought and they were led by a non-Jewish hero by the name of Joseph Trumpeldor. He believed in the righness of the establishment of the state of Israel and put his life on the line for his beliefs. He won for himself the title "The Lion of Tel-Hai", for the battle he led there. |
| Buying Hebron Glass, Hebron, Israel |
This is a pic of Zohara (1986) with a friend in Hebron (now in the Palestine controled territories and non accessible today). It was possible to buy blown glass there, very fine work with beautiful colors. Almost impossible to obtain today. |
| Give Shies, Negev Desert, Israel |
This is the only tree at Give Shies in Nahal Tzin, located in the Negev Desert in southeastern Israel, only about 45 minutes from our home here in Arad. The total barrenness of the surroundings is stunning. |
| Dead Sea from Maale Yair, Negev, Israel |
This is a portion of the Dead Sea as seen from the lookout point 150 meters above. The Dead Sea is about 400 meters BELOW sea level. The color of the water, is a fantastic aquamarine that you will only see in a few places like the Great Salt Lake in Utah, USA. It has such a high content of salt and other minerals that when you get into the water you can literally "sit" and read a newspaper, you are very bouyant. But be careful and don't drink any of the water, it is very oily. |
This is the southernmost point in Israel, Eilat. The beach here runs in a crescent shape from where Israel meets Jordan, along the north shore and then curves south toward the border with Egypt only a few kilometers away at Taba. |
