Pt. 3 Boating in Holland

by seoulgirl - last update: Apr 22, 2007

Leaving the lake

Two gorgeous Windmills outside of Weesp
We left the lake and headed towards Weesp and Muiden. We knew we couldn't make it to Amsterdam and then back to the Harbour to get rid of the boat in time by Friday. So, we just headed up. We weren't keen on Amsterdam anyway since we had been there many times and we heard the canals can be alot of work.

Weesp

We took a turn and went through a bridge and were in the middle of the cutest little town. There were mooring up places in abundance so we flipped around since the right side was for vessels of 7 m or less. We moored up and there we were. We were right next to restaurants and bars and a gorgeous church... It was nice to be back in civilization again after being so alone on those lake for 3 nights!

Belgium Beer and Foodstuffs

We found a store with Belgium beer and cider from Normandy, France. It was super! We found a Dutch butcher store where we bought meet to grill on the boat and house made smoked dried sausages. The specialty cheese shop was overwhelming so we bought a few tasters. The small goat cheese was powerful!

The Baptist Church Lady Rides Away

Here is the lady that was making sure we had Jesus in our lives. We saw her on the way up the canal and the way back. She said she wants to go to the U.S. someday to see Mount Rushmore and Niagra Falls.
Baby Lambs and the windmill

Ah, baby lambs around Easter

I loved seeing baby lambs and all the new born little birds!

Clear calm waters
