Lodge View

This will be visible from one of the lodges. These waters are polluted, so watch out... However, you could still have a nice picnic out here. However the evenings tend to be too crowded for my taste.

If your a fishing fan, there are schools of fish that gather together in the center of the lake. As for their edibility, please check with locals. I rather fish for sport. :)

Road View From Near Lodge

Up on the hill, a clear view of the road to Badulla (Mountainous Region). Tea Plantation shrouds the Landscape. However they also create a cause of concern for Landslides during rainy seasons.

Garden View From Hotel

This is a typical garden view from one of the 4 star hotels in NuwaraEliya. Its obviously expensive over here, but great to spend some quality time with your partner. Its a 15 minute walk to the town.

Note: The town central is approx 3 square KM. Hence you can get from one to the other end quite fast.

Mountain View From Near Lodge

Great view from the hills near the lodge. Most Hotels & Inns offer a great view of the mountains. Else you might want to hike a bit. This picture was taken just 10 minutes {walk} away from the Lodge.

Small river running under

Fresh water runs through some of these canals! For example: This particular canal was formed from running stream up the hill. Most of the water is piped into a large tank and diverted for drinking. However there water gets polluted as it stretches downhill. Primarily due to nearby house using these streams as waste disposable zones.... sickening!!!

Water dame @Lovers Leap

This was taken @ Lovers Leap. Its a shear drop of several hundred feet. there's even a small monument for all those who have committed suicide here. Although the suicide rates have come down, there are still such cases in villages. The parents of the individuals reject and threaten the children to break up immediately. Being unable to deal with the pain of separation, they occationaly seek suicide. Its more common among teenagers. But due to globalism its becoming more scarce!

This particular place is secluded, and can be accessed only from the road far below (200 meters away).

Sambar Dear

Samba dear on the Horton Plains. About 45 minutes drive from the NuwaraEliya town. Most of the dear are tame enough for you to approach within 10 feet. Possibly due to the rich food supply being handed out by the tourists.

This is probably why 2 were found shot dead at the back of a local truck {2007/May}. Driver & Passengers were taken into custody for questioning.

Horton Plains

As you can see, there is a good crowd adventuring down these paths! The path is narrow! (wear boots). During the months of May/June/July/August these gray grassy plains turn vivid green. If you do have a good camera with polarized lens, make sure to take it along for the ride.
