The Drop, er, Walk of Faith

by keida84 - last update: Mar 12, 2007

The glass ceiling, no, make that floor......

Kit Kat and her walk of faith
When atop the Blackpool Tower there is a glass floor known as "The Walk of Faith" for the strong of heart to walk upon. I laughed watching everyone approach the floor with great trepidation. It seems they were comfortable to walk with nonchalance on the steel grating but the glass (really plexiglass) floor was a bit much for some of the faint of heart crowd. I

Approaching the glass floor

The warning

In case of emergency

"You'll break before the glass does" exclamation on the Emergency sign
Berni where's Carl?

Berni smiles after the long walk

We were greatly impressed with the staff of the Blackpool Tower. They were extremely attentive to the needs of a person using a wheelchair. They were most adept in manuvering us through the tower so Berni could see everything. A big thumbs up to these folks!
OOOOO it's a long way down

Don't look down

The window needs a bit of cleaning but you can still get the idea of what a long way down it is.

Kat, you made me laugh with your 'bar' tip, or was that the 'hotels & accommodations' one!? Interesting tips too on your ballroom and restaurant experiences! A very well done short page.

Excellent write-up about the hotel. The owners sound wonderful, and the phtos attest to the warmth and beauty of the place.
