Crossing Kattegat on the way to Fyn

Having a beer on the way across "Kattegat"
We had very good wind on the way to the start in Bogense.

It was difficult to take this photo! I was lying in the bottom of the boat trying to catch the right moment when the boat went into a wave. Notice that I froze the water.

It was a very slow start because we had no wind :-)
but the weather was great - one of the first days with warm weather this spring.

This photo is taken an early morning south of Fyn near the little island "Lyø". We had good wind after an easy night through the narrow passage west of Fyn.

"Storebæltsbroen"
The highest point in Denmark is a hill of 173 metres, and the pylons on this bridge is 254 metres!!

From Wikipedia:
The Eastern Bridge
Built between 1991 and 1998, the Eastern Bridge (Østbroen) is a road suspension bridge between Halsskov and Sprogø. It is 6,790 metres (22,277 ft) long with a free span of 1,624 metres (5,328 ft), making it the world's second largest suspension bridge, surpassed only by the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge in Japan. The vertical clearance for ships is 65 metres (213 ft). At 254 metres (833 ft) above sea level, the two pylons of the Eastern Bridge are the highest points on solid structures in Denmark. (Only some radio masts as Tommerup transmitter are taller).

We had no intensions of winning the race - but we tried to make the boat go as fast as possible and at the same time tried to have a good relaxed time together.
There's nothing like going on a sailship race for 30 hours in great weather with good friends !!
