I am trying to find out where this place could have been. I assume it has been inspired by a real place. It has been said to me that the place could be Naples. This four pieced glass painting was made in 1906.
I've heard of places such as L'Orto botanico di Napoli and Parco Virgilio - and that the bay would be the bay of Naples.
The cactus in the picture is "Opuntia ficus-indica".
If you have any idea - please contact me.
And for additional info.. I'm doing my master's thesis of the artist who has done this painting. That's why the curiosity.. |
