This is Samantha, our new addition to the family - my grandchildren named her. She was born November 20, 2006 and already has me well trained to take her out on cue, but when she asks to go she does need to - no false alarms.

What a brave little girl! Picked her up at the breeder's in Lakeland, about an hour away. After some complaining in her new crate in the car, she started chewing on some of her toys and went to sleep. Woke up in her new home. "The yard is a cool place to come out and run around, but I like to stay in the house most of the time!"

I love my new yard!

The first couple of days I was allowed in the front lawn without my leash. A BIG dog named Gracie came by and gave me a scare - I was not about to mess around, I just ran back in the house. A couple of days later it was very windy and since I had forgotten all about Gracie by then I ran on the street and chased the leaves. Well, ever since then Grandma does not let me out front without a leash. Here I am before the leash.

She can be sweet as can be, but can also be quite ... assertive about having her way - well, we've been having little talks about this. She's doing much better. I just loved the white of those eyes!
"Awwwwwww! - time for my walk!

I party hard! I do lots of chewing, bring anything I find in the yard, have to make sure and ask to go out to potty, dodge Gracie if I am out on a walk, and also have to chase the ball, so when I get sleepy I just drop any old way!

Shepherds are smart, take charge creatures. Although the height bothered her at first, she was not about to stay there and depend on someone to carry her down - so slowly she figured out how to do it right. Here she just about has it perfected.
"Focus, focus, one at a time, no leaping ..."

A couple of weeks have gone by ...

I was sooo cute a few days ago. Now everyone says I run and look like the Easter bunny. I don't think so, do you?

Hmmm ... I think my biscuits are upstairs ...
