A family owned and operated Victorian Hotel I'm often asked to recommend an affordable hotel in a good area. I haven't stayed at the San Remo, but I offered to check it out for a fellow VTer. I was very impressed. The rates are very reasonable $60-$85 for one person, and $65-$95 for two people. The innkeeper was very accommodating when I dropped by. She let me see as many rooms as I wanted and she was fine with me snapping away photos. |
| | The rooms were nicely decorated in period furnishings and were clean. Rooms had either queen size beds or two twins, antique furniture or replicas. |
Another room. Baths are shared, but most bedrooms I saw had sinks and towels in the rooms.
| | Another room. This one didn't have a window on the exterior of the building. I'm not sure what was out the window. The rooms on the exterior were light and sunny. The ones in the interior were darker, but still nicely decorated. |
Each room has a ceiling fan.
| | The lobby has an an internet access hot spot. It looks like it's not free. There isn't much room in the lobby area to use a laptop, but I suppose this would work in a pinch if you absolutely needed to get on the internet. |
A view of the neighborhood. The hotel is located on a quiet residential street in North Beach. There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel (not owned by the hotel). Less than a block away is a laundromat.

travelgourmet Tue Aug 12, 2008 22:48 UTC hi Karen, I got carried away rating your restaurants, they all sounded good, as well as the things to do. Will be up this friday and want to know where the best Dim Sum can be found. Larry | Lhenne1 Thu Jul 17, 2008 22:05 UTC Great San Fran tips. I'm headed back up there in a couple weeks and you've given me some new ideas. Thanks! Love the "Karen's typical lunch" tip...LoL! | showardrn Mon Jul 7, 2008 01:39 UTC This zoo is the worst zoo I have ever been too. Don't waste your time, every other exhibit is closed. No elephants, lion house closed, zebras locked up and this in the middle of summer. The only animal they had a lot of was peacocks. | tedmac Mon Mar 3, 2008 19:41 UTC great pages , a wealth of information and advice Looking forward to trying some of them myself |
