Etnographical museum of Rumsiskes - Kaunas

It's about 20 minutes from Kaunas by car, you should take Kaunas - Vilnius highway and you'll see a pointer.

It's a huge open air park, at the Kaunas Lagoon. Territory of the museum is divided to four ethnic regions of Lithuania, as every region had its own characteristic features. housed are brought from those regions and concervated, villages made according to tradition of those time (end of XIXth - up to second half of XXth centuries). There's also a city center. Get ready to walk! you can enter almost all the houses and see their inside etc.

"Situated 80 km to the northwest of Vilnius and 20 km from Kaunas Rumsiskes Open-Air Ethnic Museum is a mosaic of ancient Lithuanian villages. Old farmstead buildings have been moved from all the ethnographic regions to the shore to the Kaunas Sea - dwelling houses, granaries, threshing bars, cattle-sheds etc. - all in harmony with the breathtaking natural scenery. Folk ensemble concerts and holiday festivals are held in the grounds of the Museum. "
