There are so many things to do in Santorini, so many things to visit and see.... But somtimes some of the best experiences are not even described in the travel guides... You can find out them yourselves and experience individually... Some of them bring special memories, experiences, precious moments....Therefore here I put some must do tips that can't be found written in travel books...they are my own personal experiences and I think you could try that too.. Just pick the right mood for every thing....

You know when Santorini is the most magical? Yes, at sunset, but not only....
Now imagine this: an island in the sea, surrounded by little volcanic islands, the night sky above full of dazzling stars, the moonlight mirroring in the sea... It is hard to explain you in words... Therefore, I recommend you to take an open car and head from Thira to Akrotiri direction along the road which reveals your the most beautiful coast line of the island and Kameni islands.. Put some mystical chill out music, let someone drive, make yourself comfortable and gaze at the star high high in the sky... look at the moon in the sea and the cost line of the island while you go the road...

and you will feel like on some far away devine paradise...

Try to reserve a room or even a small two-room house in the heart of Thira and feel the real rythm of Thira life and its locals,... especially in the mornings when they get up and go to their groceries or prepare the donkeys for a day long work... Wander the narrow streets and be careful of the fast motorbikes going behind you :) Take a walk in the morning and see the sunrise and its shadows on the fences and walls.... Discover all the authentical things...

Yes, Santorini is wonderful at the sunset... But sunrises are beautiful as well...So get up some day early and see the sunrise too.... Sometimes foggy and misty..sometimes very clear and red... See it and feel the silence...hear the first moves of the locals... It is especially nice to look at from the lower Thira part (living houses), or Firostefani...U can see it from the balcony......or wander through the narrow streets.....
Just do that and enjoy the silent Santorini...

Go to the furthest spot of Santorini to the Faros and make some pics at the lighthouse! Climb the rocks and feel like you are at the edge of the island!

Instead of watching sunset from Oia town, watch it while dining at a fish tavern in Ammoudi- an old port (as well as beach) down below Oia! NIce view and atmosphere!

Or so called "breast".. If u come to Imerovigli and you like some hiking, go to the old Venetian castle remains Skaros. This hills from a far reminds us a breats. The path leads to a little church of Theoskepasti. When u go up on this rocks- a nice view to the volcanic island will be seen.
