It was a cold, miserable end of December where I live. I just wanted to run away from life to someplace warm. One particularly cold morning I was commiserating online with emilienoelle and asked on a whim, "Hey! You want to go to 'Hansifest' in Florida?" And to my surprise she answered, "Yeah, sure. Why not?" And that was that. I bought my plane tickets that lunch hour and had a hotel reservation by mid-afternoon.

'Hansifest' was a small VT meet organized by our beloved Katmosphere to celebrate the visit of Waalewiener and his wife LoriPori to Florida.

I wore a special black-and-white Hawaiian Hansi-style shirt to commemorate the event. Errr... OK, not really. The airline misplaced my luggage and not wanting to socialize with the shirt I flew in wearing (a type of pajama top), I ran to the drug store and this was the only thing I could find that wasn't short-sleeved with a pirate on the front. It did the job and currently hangs (since unused) in my closet at home.
