On the last day of my tour we made a little detour to Applecross. Applecross is a remote village on the coast. One can reach it by a small one lane winding road. on the way (and down) we had to stop all the time for the other cars coming in our direction. It was a surprisingly busy road.
This pictures shows the view on top of the mountains towards to sea. As you can it is a rather desolate sight. |

| | Then after the winding road, you reach Applecross. The village consists of a view houses and a pub. |
| | Just on the outside of the village a little river found its way to the sea. For me used to seeing the Rhine and North sea canal it is a peculiar sight to see something so small reaching the sea. |

hi ingrid, snow doesn't last very long in Applecross.last time I was there in winter it snowed heavily on the way up but by next day the snowploughs had cleared it all |
