"The obligatory page.. who is behind this account" Personal Page by Trekki

Somehow it seems that it is a bit obligatory here on VT to write more about the person behind the account, so I do obey and try my best. The lists of likes and dislikes might grow – but ha, that’s a good way for me as well to get to know me.

Likes:

Photography
I love my darlings, the cameras and am more than happy that my new digital SLR accepts to work with my old tele lenses. So I am out for photo hunting almost every time, well, ok, if the weather is nice.

Hiking
The more off path the better. I love my tent(s) and my travels and hikes with them. Nothing is better than to sleep in the 3 million star hotel.

Art, culture and history
Somehow, my mid 2006 travels in Central Asia made me hit the books again, as I realised that I was bored to death at school when it came to history. Well, I am never too old to learn, so now I am digging myself deep into history and arts and find myself even travelling a bit more into towns with historical character.

Monty Python: (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, if possible, lol) - see bottom for some of my favourites on youtube.

More to come..... :-)

Dislikes:
Ah, this list might get quite long…..
I absolutely hate discrimination of all kinds, be it to weaker persons, women, kids, people of different skin colour, belief and religion. This is not only against all common sense but also against human rights. But if it is even allowed for certain governments and companies… well, again, mankind where do you go ?
I also hate well-meaning advice of people who either don’t know me or who are supposed to know me but where advices tell me that they never came across any point I made or that they never have realised how my brain “ticks”. But this seems to be closely related to discrimination – not wanting to realise that other people can be different. It gives me a hard time in life, mostly between 9 and 5, as during the rest of my life, I can easily avoid these weisenheimers by simply turn and leave the scene.

I don’t like the trotten pathes, as they don’t bring me forward a bit. This in the sense as I cannot learn and develop if all is said and known. However, even the trotten pathes do have some secrets to their left and and right, and this I like to discover.

More to come here as well.

Special travels - completely out of the norm

This chapter is dedicated to very much special travels, if you want to do something really off path and out of the norm. The list will continue, and if you have something, you'd like to share, please send me an email.
Thanks :-)

    Hi Ingrid
    Trust you're enjoying your trip?
Due to family circumstances, we will unexpectedly be in the Rhineland for a few days the week beginning 18 June - based in Bonn.
Are you going to be around?
    Regards Cathy

Hello Ingrid, haven't been reading your pages yet till now, and I found wonderful information/linx about some nice hikings spots on your HP. And equipment stuff is interesting too, I always had problem finding right tent as the world if overflooded with too many brands, and stuff's changing very fast. If they can serve me at least as good as my 12 years old sleeping bag, then I am content :)

Yes - well, Chris has watched all and I have watched part ;-) When we were there we stayed in rooms above a cafe on that main square. It was lovely to see it again! One day we will go back ...

So glad you found your way into my turkey pages, Trekki. It was a fabulous trip, it's nice to know someone in VTland is reading it. Heaven knows how long it's going to take me to finish it. Life just seems to be so busy lately. Hope all's well with you. Leyle
